Estimate follow-up

How to follow up on a quote without being pushy

October 7, 20263 min read

A simple follow-up rhythm that keeps your estimate in the running and respects the customer.

Most quotes do not get a decision on the day they are sent. Customers compare, talk to a spouse, or simply get busy. A short, friendly follow-up keeps your estimate from being forgotten.

A simple rhythm

  • A couple of days later: check that the quote arrived and offer to answer questions.
  • About a week later: ask whether the timing or scope has changed.
  • After that: one last note that leaves the door open.

Keep it respectful

Stop as soon as the customer replies, books, or says no. Always honor a request to stop messaging. A follow-up should feel like service, not pressure.

Make it easy to answer

Ask a question the customer can answer in a few words, such as "Would you like me to hold a spot on the schedule?"
